Some more highlights ! I know what I said in my Illamasqua beyond powder review - that I don't need anymore pale gold highlights. This is 100% true, but I've been eyeing up 'Champagne Pop' for quite some time now, and though I could never justify another massive pan of highlight, this is one half blush so that makes it okay, right? Essentially these champagne splits are a BECCA formula, in collaboration with Jaclyn Hill; half highlight and half blush. My highlight addiction runs deep enough that I picked up not only the champagne pop/flowerchild combination but also the limited edition shades prosecco pop/pamplemousse.

These were released in the UK on the 1st of August and I got mine from Space NK. You can get them here - they keep selling out online, but are available in store. If you can't get hold of them the CHAMPAGNE FACE PALETTE is back in stock at the time of writing this. Now, first of all, can we appreciate the cute little bags they packaged them in ! The story behind the two bags (as opposed to one), was that my boyfriend picked me up one duo and then I decided I needed a second...so I returned the day later!

The boxes these come in are reflective gold and, unlike traditional BECCA highlights, the rim of the compact is a shiny gold plastic, as opposed to the matte grey. As normal, there is a sizable mirror in the lid of the compact. Anything pretty and gold is a thumbs up from me! The formula is classic BECCA also - creamy and buttery.

I have fair skin, and although I've seen a lot of posts about champagne pop on pale skin, I've seen very few about prosecco pop. Champagne pop is exactly what is says on the tin - a beautiful pale golden colour (almost peachy), I'm disappointed that I deliberated for so long about buying this - it's stunning! Prosecco pop is very much a true gold - something that I'm sure would be stunning on darker skin tones too. Flowerchild is a permanent blush for BECCA, whereas pamplemousse is a limited edition colour. I adore vibrant pinks, so I'm happy. I own BECCA's pearl so I already know these highlights don't particularly emphasise skin texture on me - these duos are no different.

Colours like champagne pop and flower child are shades I'd normally go for on me, I really love the peachyness to the highlight. Prosecco pop is very golden, so I have to use a slightly lighter hand (as with the blush), but I still think even fair skin can pull it off !

I hope you enjoyed reading...

  2. I've been eyeing these split pans! I already have the face palette so it wouldn't make sense for me to buy them. But they're sooooo pretty! I swear packaging always gets me, lol.
